Plenty of suppliers will list every product in the barrel whether or not they can source any of them. We would rather name what we are actually quoting on and be asked about the rest.
For products outside the current focus, the first step is establishing whether a credible channel exists for that grade, in that volume, on that timeline. Sometimes it does and the enquiry proceeds normally. Sometimes it does not, and you get told that in the first conversation rather than in the fourth.
A requirement we cannot source is declined. That is a smaller business in the short term and a considerably more useful one to deal with.
